In light of Record Store Day being pushed back to June and current circumstances, we have decided to give people another month to enter our RSDUnsigned competition.
Please send us your entries by the 20th of April and stay tuned for when we will now announce the winner!
Sound Performance are proud to again be the official vinyl manufacturing partner of Record Store Day. We have been supporting independent music for 25 years and are passionate about vinyl and it’s resurgence which has enabled artists and labels to thrive.
We've been pressing your favourite music on vinyl since 1994, all colours, shapes and sizes and we're excited to be able to offer this service for free to the competition winner.
As well as the opportunity to win your music pressed to vinyl and distributed, this will be a great chance to get your music heard and promoted across the music industry. Judging your entries will be our four judges:
Frank & Dean of Frank Cartner & The Rattlesnakes
Frank Carter and The Rattlesnakes are an English punk rock band formed in 2015 by frontman Frank Carter with guitarist Dean Richardson. Famed for their raucous live shows, the band released their debut album Blossom in 2015, and the follow-ups Modern Ruin in 2017 and End of Suffering in 2019, which earned them a Top 5 position in the UK Album Charts.
Chris Marksberry, MD at Sound Performance
Chris is the owner and Managing Director of Sound Performance Ltd, the Official Manufacturing Partner of Record Store Day 2020 and a market leader in manufacturing CD and Vinyl for the music industry.

Sam Ford, Editor of So Young Magazine
Sam Ford is the Editor of So Young magazine, a printed publication, fully illustrated by emerging and contemporary illustrators focusing on new artists and bands. In a time of disposable music and art, they aim to document what is going on right now up and down the country and overseas in pubs, clubs, squats and living rooms.
Ashli Todd, Owner of Spillers Records, Cardiff
Ashli Todd is the owner of Spillers Records, established in 1894 which is recognised as the oldest record shop in the world. Located in Cardiff’s historic Morgan Arcade, they sell an eclectic mix of genres on CD and vinyl as well as hosting live gigs and music events.
HOW TO ENTER #RSDUNSIGNED
IF YOU HAD ONE MINUTE TO INTRODUCE YOUR MUSIC TO THE WORLD... HOW WOULD YOU DO IT?
You have up to one minute to present your music to us. No set format, just submit a video showcasing your work as best you feel in just 60 seconds.
*Must be unsigned and have original material. All genres welcome.
The winning band or artist gets 500 x vinyl manufactured free by Sound Performance Ltd and a one year distribution deal with Proper Distribution.
To enter, upload your one minute long video to YouTube (your video title must include the hashtag #RSDUnsigned and the name of your band/act) and complete the entry form, giving us your YouTube link.
The competition will close on on 20th April and the winner will be announced by Record Store Day, date TBC

You must be 16 or over and a UK resident to enter this competition.
